Football Wide Bay
Football (Soccer) Wide Bay Zone Inc encompasses the major cities of Gympie, Maryborough, Hervey Bay and Bundaberg, as well as the North Burnett towns of Gayndah, Monto, Biggenden and Mundubbera - and all the areas between.
It is a Zone of considerable geographic size and diversity.
In 2007 we had over 5600 registered players - both male and female - from Under 7 to Senior. We have around 1500 female players and 4100 male players.
The four larger centres - Gympie, Maryborough, Hervey Bay and Bundaberg have conducted an inter - association competition over many years.
The Zone's Physical Size causes many transport issues and makes competition between our Centres a logistic hassle to organise.
In 2006 the Zone introduced a full home and away series for these four centres with each centre hosting the other once in the season. This competition was used as both a Championship and Trails for our Zone Squads for Season 2007. Selection processes were changed for the 2008 Season to accommodate the inaugural Rebel Sport Premier League.

In October 2007, the Queensland Government's Gambling Community Benefit Fund provided over $ 6,800.00 to Football Wide Bay Inc. for the purchase of a photocopier, laptop and associated software.
In 2006, Football Wide Bay was successful in applying for a grant for Education and Training. The Queensland Government provided $3725.00 (ex GST) to Football Wide Bay inc. to allow the Zone to update, upgrade and re-accredit its Coaches, Sports Medicine Personnel and Referees to get more Queenslanders active through sport and recreation.
We have again been successful in 2007 with a $4000.00 Grant for Club Development via a 'live in weekend' of intense training for Zone Officials.
